This initiative focuses on developing the art of penmanship and enhancing the students’ written work. By the time young people reach post primary their handwriting is often formed and their mind is made up. Students with poor penmanship may be reluctant to keep practising or to write at all. A different approach may help them to take pride of their writing and produce a piece of calligraphy - on a Christmas card, a bookmark or an invitation - that they can be proud of. The funding for this initiative can be used to purchase calligraphy sets/ materials or calligraphy lessons for the students.The aim would be to produce a piece of work that could then be exhibited or to enhance the student's Make a Book entry.
