CSPE0901: Induction course for teachers new to Civic, Social and Political Education (CSPE)
- Target Group
- This series of one day regional cluster in-service events is specifically for teachers new to CSPE.
- Course Aims
- To introduce teachers to the seven course concepts (Rights and Responsibilities, Human Dignity, Stewardship, Development, Democracy, Law and Interdependence)
To introduce teachers to the four course Units (The Individual & Citizenship, The Community, The State – Ireland and The Wider World)
To explore and participate in active learning methodologies appropriate to mixed ability teaching and the development of citizenship skills
To help teachers to develop an understanding of the organising and managing of Action Projects
To provide an overview of the three assessment instruments (The Report on an Action Project, The Course-Work Assessment Book and the written Examination Paper) associated with CSPE
To enable teachers to share their own practice - Application Closing Date
