- Teachers of Enterprise Education in Transition Year, the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme, Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Certificate Business
- Course Aims
- By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
• Define Enterprise Education and discuss in the context of Senior Cycle
• Identify, examine and become familiar with a range of resources which have been developed to enhance the teaching and learning of Enterprise at Senior Cycle
• Consider the importance of active teaching and learning methodologies in facilitating Enterprise Education programmes
• Identify and engage in practical strategies which can engage all learners in the Enterprise classroom including Gifted and Talented students
• Explore innovative and creative methods for the teaching and learning of key Enterprise Terminology
• Appreciate the importance of collaboration between the school, local enterprises and business associations in implementing Enterprise Education programmes in schools
• Participate in an ‘ Enterprise Visit Activity’ and apply learning from this exercise in the classroom
• Explore approaches to evaluating Enterprise Education Programmes in school
• Discuss and reflect on their own teaching and share experiences and relevant resources with colleagues
• Undertake some action research in own work situations, reflect on practice and document the outcomes - Application Closing Date
